山口県周南市のレクサスを改修デザインしました。
特にラウンジのデザインでは周南市から見える瀬戸内海の海と島から成る「うねる風景」をオマージュしたいと思いました。天井を生かして、天井からボールチェーンを５０mmピッチで吊るしました。５０mmという間隔は「縦」にも認識でき、「面」にも認識できるギリギリのさ法である。この「線」と「面」の間で認識が揺れ動くデザインです。
We improved the design of the LEXUS showroom in Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
In the lounge design, we aimed to create an image of "swaying landscape" consisting of the Seto Inland Sea and islands visible from Shunan City. We utilized the ceiling by suspending ball chains at 50mm pitch from above. The 50mm interval is a critical dimension that can be perceived both as "lines" vertically and as a "surface" horizontally. This is a design where perception fluctuates between "lines" and "surface".
